Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: This contract was for enhanced, arms reach, inspections of pier caps throughout Metro District, to determine baseline conditions for future monitoring and potential analysis of pier caps for strengthening needs in the future. As Metro District has over 1500 bridges, and over 700 due for routine inspections each year, we do not have the required manpower to also
perform these enhanced inspections in a timely manner, and as such require a consultant contract to assist in completing
these inspections.
