The contractor completed a Quantitative Stream Survey – benthic invertebrate sampling and documentation of stream conditions to assess abundance and diversity, relative to a reference area, during the summer index period; Ground-truth the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) National Wetland Inventory (NWI) areas – document potential wetland areas associated with the up-gradient portion of the intermittent drainage corridor and document vegetation and animals (i.e. wildlife and invertebrates) associated with the intermittent drainage; and, Reporting - Phase IIIC Baseline Environmental Risk Assessment (BERA) at the former Kettle River Company - Creosote Plant Site in Sandstone, Pine County, Minnesota. The work was necessary to assess site conditions and will be used in making a decision if or if not remediation in the Skunk Creek vicinity of the site is necessary.
