{Empty}
The ANIKA Foundation provided culturally specific community-led outreach and engagement strategy designed to educate and empower African American community members and youth on COVID-19 testing, vaccinations, etc., and connect with available resources. The outreach connected with East & West Metropolitan areas, while leveraging partnerships statewide - including Trusted Messengers from the East & West Twin Cities Metropolitan area and Mankato. The ANIKA Foundation was able to use existing frameworks and relationships with organizations, local businesses, youth, and other advocacy groups to provide effective outreach within the African American community.

OK. Some materials were not summitted in a timely manner such as invoices and monthly reports, but everything was done in the end.

Ok, there were some issues on the first round of the contract with attending our bi-weekly contractor calls, which were required. This issue was mostly remediated in the second round. One thing that helped what getting a call-in line for Teams as she is on the road a lot and could not be on virtually. I had to make a special request for this call-in line as that is not provided regularly, because there is a monthly fee for the State. Once this call line was in place the contractor was able to attend more of our bi-weekly calls. Even though there was some issues with the contractor, they did provide a service and connection to the African American community that was effective. They also produced some quality targeted outreach videos to promote getting vaccinated and reach was very high.

Due to missing some bi-weekly calls without good communication as to why those calls where being missed and along with other communication lapses during the first contract period we were not planning on funding this contract for a second round. The contract then requested a meeting to discuss the issues which was granted. After a long conversation with the contractor it was decided to fund this contractor at a reduced amount with the understanding that better communication was needed and that the bi-weekly contractor calls were not optional.
