Rice County is home to twice the state average of Latino immigrants and one of the largest outstate Somali refugee populations, with a local school district recently becoming majority non-white. HealthFinders Collaborative (HFC) proposes to draw on longstanding relationships of trust in these traditionally marginalized rural communities in Rice County to connect local leaders with state resources and messages around COVID-19. Further, HFC will ensure communication is two-way, so state leaders can engage with local perspectives.
