TH 169 Corridor Study
1035556
MnDOT is looking at a project on US169 in approximately 2027. There are a number of issues along this corridor that we will
need to address with this future project. The contract allowed us to partner with MAPO (Mankato/North Mankato Area
Planning Organization) to study the corridor, identify the issues, and determine potential solutions.

The Contractor had to work through COVID restrictions and modify the work plan on the fly. They did a great job adapting to a
virtual environment. A cost recovery plan was developed early on when it was clear that some COVID impacts, as well as
partner demands, would put the contract in jeopardy of going over the contract amount.
The Contractor delivered high quality work. One of the cost recovery measures included having MAPO pull together the final
DRAFT plan. It was clear that their writing styles were different. It would have been nice if the Contractor would have been able
to develop all the deliverables, but I understand why it was necessary to farm out some of the work to keep the project within
budget.
