Bridge 27831 Deck Inspection
1045260
The purpose of this contract was to perform a thorough deck inspection of the Dunwoody Bridge (Bridge #27831) and other nearby bridges to provide the District with accurate data about its condition which in its turn will help the District minimize risk while scoping and developing a cost effective repair work for an anticipated bridge preservation project in Fiscal Year
2026.
It was necessary to enter into a contract because a thorough deck inspection utilizes advanced Non-Destructive Evaluation
methods which are needed by MnDOT on occasional basis. Therefore, it was not economically feasible for the agency to
purchase and own such equipment, and train MnDOT personnel on operating it especially when the bridge crews have other
work that needs to be prioritized. In-addition, some of these methods take a lot of post processing expertise
