Minnesota River and Sand Creek Improvement Project

The following goals are based on the TSS load duration curves prepared for the Sand Creek Watershed Impaired Waters Resource Investigation completed in 2010.

Sand Creek at Jordan - TSS reduction of 40% to 70% in moist and high flow ranges (estimated at 44,000 lbs. TSS/day and 1,540,000 lbs./day respectively for moist and high flow)

Porter Creek at Xanadu Ave. - TSS reduction of 50% to 70% in moist to high flow ranges

The proposed project, based on modeling and the Near Channel Sediment Source Feasibility Study, will achieve an estimated 20% to 25% of the moist flow range reduction goal in Sand Creek as proposed for the grant. The larger effort including leveraged funds from the Sand Creek Targeted Watershed Grant is anticipated to achieve 30% to 35% of the moist range TSS reduction goal, and 5% to 10% of the high flow range TSS reduction goal in Sand Creek at Jordan.

Very Satisfied- The contractor perform at a high level while conducting the work throughout my involvement in this project administration. I was assigned to project administration for this contract in November 2020. Based on my experiences with SWMO, they are a highly qualified contractor. Nearly all correspondence was proactive to addressing any issues that could occur before the situation was actually a problem. Reports, budget tracking, invoicing, and evidence of payment was provided in thorough, timely, and complete condition. Scott county maintained a professional and technical approach throughout resulting in a successful project in the end.
