A public solicitation for pharmaceutical services was sent out through SWIFT as Event ID 2000009385. MDVA received one response (Thrifty White Pharmacy). During MDVA’s negotiation process with the responder, Thrifty White Pharmacy decided to scale back on the amount of possible pharmacists it retained on staff (downsizing) and provided MDVA with a letter stating Thrifty White Pharmacy are no longer able to fulfill our needs. Because this is a required service for skilled nursing facilities under CMS, MDVA looked towards our previous vendor, St. Therese, to determine if MDVA could prolong our current contract with them (max 5 years). St. Therese unfortunately confirmed they are unable to continue to provide MDVA pharmaceutical services due to its downsizing. Therefore, come June 30, 2019 MDVA will have no pharmaceutical consulting services for the agency. MDVA’s pharmacist contacted several entities to determine if there was any other entity that can provide the requested service to all the Homes in the agency. After talking with more than four other possible vendors, one vendor, JL Consulting, LLC, confirmed it would be able and willing to provide services.
