{Empty}
Due to COVID-19 and learning model transitions, educators and students have faced significant challenges this past school year (2020-2021). MDE received supplemental federal funding to develop training for educators to build their capacity around social and emotional competence. The contractor was selected because they are recognized nationally for their work and long history in this field. The contract was to create ten (10) self-paced social emotional learning training modules using PowerPoint for educators on the following topics: student-centered discipline; teacher language; responsibility and choice; warmth and support; cooperative learning; classroom discussions; self-reflection and self-assessment; balanced instruction; academic press and expectations; and competence building (modeling, practicing, feedback and coaching).
