Minnesota Veterans Home – Silver Bay conducted an extensive on-line search – no other providers/vendors were identified. They cross referenced key components to this life enrichment/engagement program and the only provider that would show up was Gemini Consulting. MVH-SB staff have attended many proactive workshops and proactive education, this is the only training of this type. MVH-Luverne has been on-site at MVH-Silver Bay to witness the Gemini Consulting process and have attended other dementia related training sessions as well, however, none that meet the needs of our dementia programming. Use of a consistent vendor is crucial in the consistent implementation of dementia programming methods for the veteran population at the Homes and financial efficiency to reduce duplication of training methods for the staffing and training at Home and Agency group sessions. This is the only known comprehensive Hands-On Coaching system for specific dementia communication skills that was able to be identified.
