Rob Wessman, at t he.Koru Strategy Group, is the only consult ant among them that has developed an organization t ha t provide s the specific type andamount of trainin g and support that GetReady requires - a focus on school level process change and the specific traini ng and behavior change of staff to effectively employee the Data Wise processwithin unique school contexts. The other seven Data Wise consultants provide Data Wise consultation on the side of their primaryjobs (i.e., do not have the capacity) or have a consult ancy target audience that is not r elevant to Get Ready. It should be noted that there are a large number of Data Wise "coaches" available, howeve r this category of support is distinctly different from "consultants." Coaches need only complete a seriesof traini ng workshops and activities to become cert ifie d in the Data Wise process. A consultant is an expert in the process, and the imp ort ance of effective and efficient Dat a Wise training and consulting to Get Ready's prog r am req uire s maximum expert ise. ·

More specifically, Rob Wessman is unique in that he: (1) is an expert in the Data Wise process, (2) has a strong history of teaching and supporting schools with the Data Wise process, (3) has specifically worked with programs wit h a GEAR UP grant and GEARUP focus, (4) has the capacity to effectively carry out large and small training events, (5) is a stable and ongoing agency that will likely be available dur ing the 7 year program duration, and (6) is an.expert in consulti ng that providestailored support toward meeting the shift ing needs and growing capacity of school and program staff as th ey structurally and sustainably ramp up the use of Data Wise. No other consultant that we know of meets more than half of these crit eria.
