The purpose of this contract was to provide input to MDH, local public health and other partners about COVID-19 related needs, identify resource gaps and develop solutions in the African-American community for the state COVID-19 response. MDH collaborated with community based agencies for a more effective and comprehensive approach to address COVID-19 issues.

The African-American Leadership Forum (AALF) adhered to the necessary guidelines regarding meetings, submission of documentation, (work plans, budgets, summaries and narratives).
AALF has a long-standing relationship in the African-American community focusing on expansion and improving economic, educational and health opportunities for all is key to building a healthier and just community. AALF ensured these core values were represented throughout this project.
AALF estimated cost for this project was well within the guidelines of the contract given the stringent timeline associated with desired outcomes.
AALF was able to identify and develop a key relationship with another African-American community organization, Phyllis Wheatley sub-contracted with them to establish an ongoing focus and support for COVID-19 related issues.
