Chemistry/Toxicology LIMS Enhancements
{Empty}
Following the previous project with the vendor, Thermo Fisher Scientific, some additional enhancements were identified. In this project the vendor completed the implementation of these enhancements in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) for the Chemistry/Toxicology laboratory to better implement, control and monitor aspects of traceability systems within the laboratory. The work included configurations of workflows, tests, electronic signatures, and a location management module. The vendor will also develop new reports and provide training for users of the LIMS system.

Procurement of the services from the single source vendor was required due to the unique and proprietary nature of the application. The LIMS application is designed, manufactured, and supported by this vendor only. The LIMS extensions developed were for continued functionality of the LIMS system.

Contractor was able to complete deliverables within the timeframe of the contract.
Contractor worked with the Lab to configure a solution that worked best for the Lab’s processes and workflows.
The cost is reasonable for vendor rates.
Although a project manager set up and attended meetings there was not much involvement from that role on the vendor’s side. There was a very relaxed approach to project management processes. In future projects we would request that this role be augmented on the vendor’s side.
