Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: QUALITY MANAGEMENT PLAN REVIEW TRAINING:
The class will provide hands-on training on the MnDOT Design Bid Build (DBB) Quality Management Process (QMP) Manual. The
training will include a mixture of presentations, case studies, and small group exercises where attendees review actual plans and
specifications to demonstrate ways to create high-quality plan sets and reduce errors, addenda, and letting date changes.
Participants will understand why the quality of DBB plan documents is very important and identify ways to prepare their own
documents for review at several stages, as outlined in the QMP. Participants will learn how to check their own plans before
submission for review, including how to use checklists and prepare documents for each stage of review. Participants will also
work through real project examples that were developed from common plan errors and best practices to reduce future errors.
In addition, participants will be able to recognize high-risk project elements to reduce incidence of letting date changes,
addenda, change orders, and supplemental agreements due to plan errors or inconsistencies.
