Very satisfied. West Central Environmental Consultants (WCEC) did a good job at keeping the project on track throughout the fiscal year. The EDCAD field work was completed in November 2019, and the EDCAD was submitted in March 2020. The MPCA hydrologist reviewed the report in June 2020, not giving WCEC quite enough time to prepare bids and specs for the excavation. Bids and specs will be prepared in FY2021.
Very satisfied. The excavation plan proposed by WCEC aligns with the corrective action goals of the site. The quality of the report is helping to target areas of concern for removal. There’s been petroleum contamination at this site for over 50+ years that hasn’t shown any signs of degradation, and has migrated offsite before. The corrective action excavation will lead to eventual closure of the site.
I also appreciated that WCEC reached out with questions and comments while preparing the EDCAD report. I think the collaboration is valuable and gives really good direction for the site.
Satisfied. The cost proposal fell in line with the work to be completed. The bids and specs were budgeted for in this FY2020 work order, but not completed due to time constraints. Therefore not all money budgeted was spent. Bids and specs for the excavation will be completed in a separate FY2021 work order.
On one invoice, there was an issue regarding a per diem meal reimbursement. The site is located within 35 miles of WCEC’s office, therefore not eligible for reimbursement under the Commissioner’s Plan. After bringing this to WCEC’s attention, they removed it.
Very satisfied. The overall performance of the work was good. The Excavation Detailed Corrective Action Design (EDCAD) field work and report went well, and based upon the recommendations in the report, will lead into completing a corrective action excavation during FY2021. The corrective action excavation will help move the site towards closure.
