Routine bridge inspections for bridge numbers 2783
1034036
There are several larger bridges in Metro District that put significant strain on the ability of MnDOT bridge inspectors to meet FHWA deadlines for for the routine inspection of in-service bridges. Contracting these inspections out removed the burden from state bridge inspectors and allowed more time for better information on the current condition of Metro District bridges.

Routine safety inspections of in service bridges must be completed by FHWA and MnDOT certified Team Lead inspectors, and there is a limited number of consultants with Team Leads on staff. As there was a limited time frame to complete the inspections and use the alotted funds, it made sense to single source select a consultant that has previously performed many inspections for the State with good results within a reasonable time frame.
