Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: Nlets links and supports state, local, and federal law enforcement, justice, and public safety agencies around the US for the purposes of sharing and exchanging critical information. As part of its modernization efforts, Nlets required states using legacy information formats to switch to standard Nlets NIEM XML formats for all messages exchanged with Nlets via the BCA’s Law Enforcement Message Switch (LEMS) by December 2019. Unisys, the vendor for LEMS, provided the programming services to perform this work and implement the changes.
