Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: A mission of this agency is to build highways. During highway constructon, contaminated soil and groundwater that must be
properly treated and disposed can be encountered. It is necessary to obtain informaton on the existence, magnitude, and extent
of contaminated soil and groundwater contaminaton in the project corridor. The informaton obtained from this work is used by
MnDOT to develop clean-up plans, obtain clean-up plan permits/approvals, and develop contract special provisions, thus
reducing potental liability and avoiding constructon delays.
