The National School Climate Center (NSCC) is the only entity in the country that can provide this certification. The NSCC is America’s leading school climate center, presenting a comprehensive array of school climate informed research, policy guidelines, measurement systems, school improvement guidelines and leadership development opportunities. No other organization or University based center has this array of integrated guidelines, learning opportunities and tools. There is only one other national center aimed at improving school climate and it is at the US Department of Education, Safe & Supportive Schools Center, which is supported by the American Institutes of Research. But, the Safe & Supportive Schools Center doesn’t have the comprehensive tools that NSCC has or a comprehensive training or certification program.
The School Climate Leadership Certification is only offered by the NSCC. Based on a website search for other providers, there are no other organizations in the country that offer this service. The NSCC also is the only entity that has access to the tools that the districts need in order to accomplish a school climate improvement process. For example, their climate assessment tool, the Comprehensive School Climate Inventory (CSCI), is a nationally recognized school climate survey that provides detailed information to support long-term and informed data-driven decisions for school climate improvement planning. The CSCI is the only comprehensive school climate survey that has been endorsed and recommended in the three independent national reviews of school climate surveys.
