Provide oversight of monitoring well drilling and gamma logging, monitoring well and residential well sampling, location and elevation surveying of the monitoring wells, community engagement and communications, and reporting. This scope of work was necessary to obtain additional groundwater data for a community in which some of its drinking water wells have been impacted by a release of agricultural chemicals.

The site has a combination of petroleum and agricultural chemical contamination, and is regulated by both the MPCA and the MDA. Bay West LLC was selected because they are a Level 3 multi-site contractor, and because they have experience with other sites that have drinking water impacts requiring community engagement.

Bay West has been timely with the execution of the field work and communications during the project.
Bay West has had only a few minor quality issues in their reporting, but the issues were resolved quickly. Their field work quality is satisfactory.
Bay West's costs for this particular contract were reasonable.
Overall, Bay West's performance on this project is acceptable. They are technically sound and their staff are professional and friendly. These traits have been beneficial for the community engagement piece of this project.

Bay West doesn't have as much experience on environmental projects for the MDA Incident Response Unit (IRU). The MDA IRU would have liked to see Bay West take on a more active role in consulting the MDA IRU on their recommendations for proposed sampling locations and data evaluation, and next steps, rather than ask MDA IRU staff for their opinion / recommendations. I believe that this will improve as Bay West gains more experience working on with MDA IRU staff.
