Metro Soils/Inspection Staff Augmentation
6210
Perform courier duties including picking up material samples from construction projects around the Metro District and delivering them to the laboratory for verification testing.

Assist in the operation of the soils/pavement sampling equipment (solid stem power-driven auger and core drill) and collect the materials samples in the performance of soils investigations.
Internal staffing limitations due to shortage in operating budgets did not allow MnDOT internal staff to be exclusively used to fill the material testing needs. MnDOT had staff limitations due to the magnitude of construction projects.

This contract was for staff augmentation and did not have deliverables due in the traditional sense. The consultant showed up to work on time every day and was reliable.
The consultant was open to learning and was effective in his work with us.
The contractor’s cost was reasonable.
Overall the contractor met our expectations. The consultant tried to fit in with the Soils Crew and work effectively on the team.
Yes
Unfortunately we had to send the consultant away sooner than anticipated, because he did not have a valid driver’s license. He was unable to legally drive himself to work and to the job site every day.
