Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: This program provided education and tools for transit managers and transit staff who may have general skills in transit, but need knowledge in specific areas related to improving rural public transit service delivery. In recent years, MnDOT’s the Office of Transit has overseen the Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) training programs to over 50 Greater Minnesota Public Transit Systems. To maximize training opportunities and events, the program was designed to consistently educate and train all of our systems to the same standards. The Office of Transit offered multiple training opportunities throughout each year, thereby requiring MnDOT’s small staff to repeat the procurement process numerous times as well as organizing these trainings in a single calendar year. The contract consolidated training under one umbrella for CY2015.
