The State was in need of a contractor to provide detail design for approximately 44 intersection corners within West Concord and Mantorville, to bring them to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Acts (ADA) and Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) standards and guidelines. The work was completed under State Project 8826-110 on Trunk Highway (TH) 56 in West Concord (between Concord Street and South Street) and TH 57 in Mantorville (between 9th Street and 4th Street). No other State agency had employees with the required expertise available to complete this work.

Alliant Engineering was Direct Selected to perform ADA Design work for the district. Designing ADA projects can be very challenging. This project had an accelerated timeframe which added an additional challenge to the work. Overall, the performance was very satisfactory.
