Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: The Minnesota Department of Transports sought expertise from public engagement consultants to assist the agency, through a select metro project, to better understand and effectively demonstrate new methods of engagement preferred by Minnesota’s growing and changing population.

Public participation is required of MnDOT and based upon the belief that those who are affected by a decision have a right to be involved in the planning and program delivery process.

This contract was necessary to help the agency better understand and demonstrate new and differing types of engagement strategies that designed to yield higher levels of public participation in project planning and development in general and with traditionally under-served communities.
