Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: The purpose of this contract is to provide assistance to State in properly dealing with problems associated with contaminated soil, contaminated groundwater, petroleum storage tanks or solid or hazardous waste materials that may be encountered at projects affecting the State’s construction operations as determined by State’s Project Manager. In these situations, rapid response in dealing with the contamination problem is necessary to avoid delaying contract lettings and active construction projects, and to avoid potential negative impacts to the public or the environment.
