Aggregate Road Surface Rejuvenate
99004w10
Having a surface with the proper gradation and plasticity is important in an effort to provide an aggregate road that performs well .
The alternative proposed herein is to analyze the problematic road surface to determine how the existing material could be rejuvenated by blending the existing road surface with new aggregate that has the proper characteristics to bring the resulting surface to the proper gradation and plasticity. Using only the aggregate needed to rejuvenate the existing surface will reduce costs and increase sustainability. If the cost and effort of maintenance is reduced, it will likely be possible to maintain roads to a higher standard that will benefit road users. Several steps will be required to complete this investigation. Literature Review and interviews, a workshop to consider various means and methods to accomplish rejuvenation, a planning effort, a series of field trials, a series of post field trial observations, and an effort to synthesize and document the results.
