Laboratory Study of Culvert Sedimentation for Fish

To test the conditions under which a culvert set below the streamline elevation will naturally fill in with stream sediment. Laboratory experiments will explore the functionality of a culvert that is prefilled with material representative of the stream as a part of the installation process against one that is empty after installation and assess the need for riprap weirs that protect against headcutting and downstream degradation.
