Financial Management & procurement for USDA’s Chil
{Empty}
The full name of this project is Financial Management and procurement for USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The CACFP has undergone a series of integrity rules that requires a higher level of financial viability, accountability and internal control for sponsors of CACFP. This organization specializes in auditing the CACFP, and contracting with state agencies to conduct program reviews of CACFP. USDA uses this organization to deliver financial management and procurement training during national conferences. Minnesota received a reauthorization grant to contract with this organization to train all the CACFP staff at MDE who work with CACFP application review, financial management audits and compliance visits. We also scheduled a full day workshop for sponsoring organizations of CACFP to take the training and improve their financial integrity skills. Sponsors would not have the ability to attend a workshop like this specifically related to CACFP without this opportunity. Even the national conference training sessions are only an hour vs this full day workshop to build skills specifically related to their federal grant.

No other vendor conducts specific financial management/fiscal integrity training for child nutrition programs on the new USDA regulation specific to CACFP. MH Miles was retained by the USDA to develop and deliver the training on fiscal integrity. This vendor was used by MDE to conduct this USDA training to staff in MN.

Excellent
Very reasonable, the vendor came down in price upon request so that we could stay in our federal grant budget. They normally charge ~40% more.
Very satisfactory. They worked with us prior to the training to adjust the agenda to our specific areas of need based on the current level of knowledge and skill of the audiences (state agency staff and then sponsor staff).
