Teen Driver Support System (TDSS) Field Operationa
99008W17
The purpose of the contract was to do a field operational test of the Teen Driver Support System using a wide range of newly licensed teen drivers and a sufficient number of test participants so that a rich data set supporting statistically relevant conclusions could be drawn.
The result of this project is a detailed Final Report document with analysis of the field operational test data including quantifiable performance measures related to teen driving safety and performance, and parental involvement in the newly licensed teen driver experience.
The contract was necessary to perform critical research regarding Teen Driver Safety Systems and their effectiveness as an effective methodology to reduce deaths and injuries on Minnesota roadways. It was reasonable to use a contract for this project in order to access the qualified research professionals needed to complete the work.
