Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: The purpose of this contract was to provide plans, specifications and a cost estimate for installation of fiber optic cable and fiber optic terminations on TH 51 (Snelling Avenue) from Midway Parkway/Dan Patch Avenue to I-694 in St. Paul, Falcon Heights and Arden Hills.

It was necessary to enter into a contract because MnDOT’s Internal Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC) design personnel were committed to other projects and were not able to complete the design of this project when needed.
