It was necessary to enter into a contract because MnDOT does not have a coatings expert on staff.

Evaluate the contractor's overall performance Overall I was very pleased with the contractors work. Often they went above and beyond in their contacts with the various coating companies. Kevin worked with no less than 3 companies on getting the required test done. He helped arrange to get wood samples from the treater which were used for the weathering testing. The end result was a very good product!
