i. The goal is to implement an Enterprise Data Architecture (EA) practice and develop the models to support this practice.
ii. Update the current Data architecture and implement processes and tools to keep it up to date through the departments change management process.
iii. The scope of the project includes all data stores and data modeling in production managed or administrated by OI&TS.
iv. Facilitate and support the creation of a Data Architecture Practice in the Data Domain
v. Create diagrams for Strategic Data Architecture initiatives and projects, assess data services for each project, and assess maturity, life-cycle, and technical condition of impacted data services and products
vi. Update Mn/DOT’s Data Model to support Data Governance, Business Data Catalog, and BI
vii. Create needed models and roadmap to establish the DAP in MnDOT, including existing strategic initiatives and major projects
viii. Work with OI&TS Strategic Planning and Data Management Section manager, other data section supervisors, data warehouse and database architects to document the requirements and definitions for data standards, including roles to maintain the data component. Integrate data sources with the Configuration Management Database.
ix. Review and recommend changes and best practices to the process for how technology becomes part of the architecture and the exception process
x. Provide informal training and skills transfer to Mn/DOT staff
xi. Report all work plans and completed requirements to the Mn/DOT Project Manager
xii. Work Location will be onsite at Mn/DOT’s Central Office location in St. Paul, MN
