Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: This proposed implementation project will evaluate the use of LED lighting luminaires for use in Mn/DOT roadway lighting. The project will install new LED roadway lighting luminaires along a segment of highway replacing existing high pressure sodium (HPS) luminaires. The project will also replace adjacent existing HPS luminaires with new ones for a fair comparison. For the LED section and the HPS section electrical power usage will be measured on the circuit(s) and light levels will be measured. A cost comparison of the LED and HPS luminaires will be documented. Maintenance issues will be documented.

Evaluate the contractor's overall performance Contractor performed well. There were issues beyond the contractors control that added difficulty to evaluating the lighting systems (there was a cable hit that took lights out and MnDOT was not able to complete light level runs in the area due to equipment issues).
