Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: Assist in the Migration of MnDOT's Edge Firewall to the new Checkpoint and move any load balanced applications to F5. Also upgrade the voice firewalls and upgrade the VPN environment. Monthly progress reports delivered to the Network Operations Unit Supervisor. Participation in all related meetings will be required. Knowledge transfer to current firewall staff.

It was necessary because my current staff did not have the necessary Checkpoint Skills or time to achieve this in the specified timeframe.

Evaluate the contractor's timeliness The contractor was at work on time and always kept me informed if he wouldn't be available. (Very few days)

Evaluate the contractor's quality The contractor's work was very good. He was thorough, and what he was doing was conveyed to my staff so that once he left they would be able to take over the support.

Evaluate the contractor's cost I think that the cost was worth the monies spend and it was a good value

Evaluate the contractor's overall performance This contract was a great benefit to my unit and the project he was assigned to. Not only did he to good work, but he kept my unit informed of everything he was doing, and was able to transfer the required knowledge to my staff so they were able to take over the day to day operations of the system, as well as, being able to implement additional rules and systems to use the technologies.
