Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: The State contracted with Bolton & Menk, Inc. (Contractor) to provide detail design for a bituminous mill and overlay; culvert repairs and linings, and associated work on westbound (WB) Interstate 90 (I-90) and northbound (NB) and southbound (SB) Minnesota Trunk Highway 43 (TH 43), respectively. The Contractor completed a separate construction plan for approximately 8.6 miles of I-90 from 0.8-miles west of TH 76 to 0.69 miles west of CSAH 12 overpass (from Reference Point (RP) 257.819 to RP 266.388) under SP 8580-163 and a separate plan for approximately 6.8 miles of TH 43 from the east junction I-90 to the junction of TH 61 (from RP 35.186 to RP 42.100) under SP 8502-33. The Contractor completed one special provisions document for the construction of SP 8580-163 and SP 8502-33. Contractor’s tasks and deliverables included, but are not limited to, completion of the categorical exclusion determination (CATEX), detail hydraulics design, design memorandum, utility coordination and relocation plans, road plans, special provisions, time and traffic and permits.
