Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: State plans to reconstruct I-494 from I-394 to I-94 through the cities of Minnetonka, Plymouth, and Maple Grove. The proposed reconstruction includes concrete pavement repair, unbonded concrete overlay, should widening for dynamic shoulder, re-decking and widening of bridges, noise walls, drainage (ponds), and traffic signals. A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment was completed in 2005 for the majority of the project corridor. The purpose of this contract is to complete a limited Phase I Environmental Site Assessment and Drilling Investigation based on the results of the Phase I of any suspect areas in the current project area. This information will be used by State to determine final project design plans/specifications and to obtain liability protections, if required.
