Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: State is working with the City of Alexandria to reconstruct the portion of TH 29 (Broadway Street) beginning just south of 8th Avenue extending north to just south of 3rd Avenue. The intent of this Contract is to provide assistance to State in completing a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment and a Phase II Drilling Investigation in advance of planned construction focusing on locations near potential sites of concern identified by State during review of available historical information for the project corridor. The information obtained from this work will be used by State to determine final project environmental requirements for construction.
