Concrete Bridge Deck Crack Sealant Evaluation and

To examine the performance of the best candidate crack-repair materials in bridges owned by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The scope of work includes field testing and evaluation of crack sealant products, determination of the depth of penetration to expect and/or require, determination of the effectiveness of the products in sealing full-depth cracks, and validation of the performance of the product currently being used by Mn/DOT. The work will include field application of each product; determining its depth of penetration, determining its effectiveness by observation and testing, and determining which equipment works best for its application. The work includes a comprehensive final report culminating in recommendations of best practices to be incorporated into a guidance document for Mn/DOT practitioners.
