TIS Application Developer (Architect)
P1666
Develop the Traffic, Pavement History and Crash application solutions that will provide data to various customers, both internal and external to MnDOT. This is part of the TIS Mainframe Retirement initiative. The data is currently maintained on the TIS mainframe which will be retired. The Traffic data is used to perform annual adjustments factors on traffic data, create Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) reports and extract historical traffic data. Pavement History data is used to evaluate investments in pavement and determine when to do various pavement repair projects, which is a critical function of MnDOT. There may be minor modifications to the Crash Application that were included under this contract too.

ASAP-IT contracting process was used. Because there were insufficient resources in IT to complete the needed work and in order to meet our timeline target, this was contracted out. Traffic, Pavement History and Crash data need to be migrated off the mainframe before the mainframe can be decommissioned. We needed a contracted resource for this project. A MN.IT Information Architect, DBA and MnDOT subject matter experts participated, to inform business requirements.
