Biological Control of Garlic Mustard
{Empty}
Garlic mustard is an invasive species and management of this plant using current methods is cost and labor intensive. The purpose of the project was to continue to conduct research to prepare for field release of the garlic mustard biological control insect Ceutorhynchus scrobicollis pending approval for release by the USDA. Efforts focused on optimizing the rearing techniques to increasing the productivity and abundance (yield) of C. scrobicollis and exploring additional means to further enhance rearing and release. Research also explored methods to ensure parasitoid-free C. scrobicollis in containment. Data was also collected on the garlic mustard monitoring plots and analysis of that data was carried out.
