Oversize/Overweight Permit Efficiency Study
4598
MnDOT OSOW Permits section has lost a lot of institutional knowledge in the last three years due (mostly) to retirements of long-term employees. Added to that is the fact that permit volumes have steadily increased, as have sizes of large loads. To continue its goal of continuous improvement Permits needed an objective 3rd party who could help identify inefficiencies and roadblocks that are inherent in permit processing. Looking at other states and providing options as to how to do our business better, we decided to hire a consultant to work us through this process. There is no expertise in-house to have conducted this study.
