The purpose of the contract was to provide subsurface utility engineering locating and designating services for any utilities that are new or have been moved in the last two years for the final segment of T.H. 610 in Maple Grove.
A contract was necessary because MnDOT does not have the specialized equipment necessary to perform Quality Level B or A utility designating or locating. These methods require the use of electromagnetic sensing equipment to accurately locate underground utilities.

In general the Contractor completed everything on time. There was one facility that was difficult to locate that could have been handled a little better, but in the end the deliverable was delivered.
Contractor’s quality met expectations.
Contractor’s cost was acceptable.
Contractor is clearly focused on meeting customer expectations. A little more problem solving and initiative is needed to solve difficult locate problems.
