Contractor completed the work within the contract expiration date, but deliverables were received on the very last day. In addition, the scope of work stated that the “work must be completed within one to two months after NTP.” This requirement was not met.
In general, the quality was acceptable. Boring logs were produced in the MnDOT format following MnDOT’s triaxial textural soils classification system. However, some descriptors were missing on the soils logs, and some soil types were incorrectly identified based on lab test results
Contractor’s cost was reasonable.
Ultimately MnDOT received the products that we asked for, but not without difficulty. The contractor was not very timely in either their response to my email questions and in their field investigations. Their soil boring logs were on the right track, but lacking in some aspects.
