Summarize purpose of the contract, including why it was necessary: Contractor will complete groundwater investigation activities at Johnson Brothers Landfill SW-8. This includes vertical aquifer profiling and groundwater sampling at up to 11 locations on-site, construction of 5 new monitoring wells, the conversion of 2 domestic wells into monitoring wells and the collection of groundwater samples from up to 26 monitoring wells. After completion of the sample collection, contractor will deliver water samples to MDH lab for analysis. Contractor will complete an aquifer test to determine hydraulic conductivities and observe seasonal water-level data via traducers in up to 13 wells. The contractor will complete access coordination as well as coordinate and oversee IDW disposal. Contractor will oversee bidding and subcontractor procurement. Contractor will follow the state purchasing manual and all guidelines. Cost of MDH analysis is not covered by this work order as the MPCA will contract directly to MDH. Upon completion of the work, the contractor will provide a conceptual site model, a groundwater flow model, a 3-D visualization, and project report.
